Calendar of Events

We will be hosting two large wedding receptions on 7/10 and 7/31.

4th of July Scramble and Cookout – Sunday, July 4th @ 1:00 pm
     The 4th of July Mixed Event will be played as an alternate shot scramble.  The teams are to consist of three men and three women.  There will be a shotgun start followed by a cookout at 5:00 pm.  The cookout will include grilled burgers, hot dogs, chicken breast to be served with corn on the cob, french fries, slaw, cookies and brownies.   
   If you wish to attend the cookout but are not playing in the scramble, please call (842-0041) or email csummers@indianhills-bgky.com to make reservations.  Also, if you are playing in the scramble and your children will be attending the cookout, you will need to call to sign them up.  The cost is $8.95 for adults, $5.95 for children 6 – 12 and free for children 5 and under.  
     We will keep the pool open until 10:00 on this date.  Please note IHCC does not have a fireworks show and we request that you DO NOT bring fireworks or sparklers to the club as these present a safety hazard.

     The golf course, restaurant and golf shop will be open.

Tuesday, July 6th – Mandatory Meeting for All Parents of Children on the Swim Team @ 3:30 & IHCC vs Hopkinsville Swim Meet @ 4:00 pm
Attention All Swim & Dive Parents:  Mandatory South Central Meeting on Tuesday, July 6th @ 3:30 at the pool (before the final home swim meet against Hopkinsville).  All parents of Indian Hills swimmers and divers are invited to a very important meeting to organize work shifts for the upcoming South Central Meet July 16th – 18th.  Please help us make this the best South Central ever.

     The pool will close @ 4:00 pm for warm ups and the meet will begin @ 5:00 pm. on Tuesday, July 6th for the IHCC vs Hopkinsville Swim Meet.    We will have a $6/person pizza buffet with salad, cookies and fountain sodas for the swim team and their families.

Luau – Friday, July 9th @ 7:00 – CALL NOW TO SIGN UP
     The night will begin with a deluxe Hawaiian buffet including a whole roasted pig from 7 – 9 pm.  “Entice” (last year’s Halloween Band) will provide Music and Dancing from 8:00 till midnight.  There will be exotic tropical drinks as well as your favorites at our main bar and tiki bars.  The pool will be open until midnight.  While the dinner buffet is provided by the Social Fund to the members, there will be a $15 charge for all guests attending the Luau.
     Don’t miss this great event!  Attendance is restricted to adults 21 and over only.  Please call or email to make your reservations by Monday, July 5th.    You may also sign up on the bulletin board by the bar’s service window in the hallway.  Dress Tropical!

STROKE PLAY #4 - JULY 10th (call for tee times) 
     Please contact the golf shop, 843-8256, to sign up for the fourth stroke play event.  The entry fee is $20/player.  You may sign up for the morning or afternoon group.  Pairings will be made by the Golf Shop.

Junior Golf – July 6th, 13th and 20th
     Junior Golf will continue on July 6th with practice for the Junior Club Championship to be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 8:30 am.  Please drop your kids off by 8:00 am on the 13th so they can be paired up.  Kids will be competing for trophies in their age group.  If you have a child 7 years old or younger, we ask that you stay and drive a cart if your schedule permits. 
     On July 20th, Indian Hills’ juniors will be playing Bowling Green Country Club’s juniors at BGCC for the Junior Presidents Cup.  Please have your children at BGCC by 8:00 am on the 20th.  We look forward to seeing your children each Tuesday.

Stag Night Dinner – Thursday, July 15th @ 7:00 pm
     Jake will be preparing a Low Country Boil for this month’s Stag Night Dinner to be held on Thursday, July 15th.  The meal will include Shrimp, Smoked Sausage, Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Garlic Bread and Dessert for $13.95/person.  Guests are welcome.  Please make your reservations by Tuesday, July 13th. 

South Central Dive and Swim Meet – July 16th – 18th
     This is a large event that requires a lot of team work from the Swim Team Parents, IHCC Membership and employees.  We need volunteers in many areas:

     Please review the attached letter from our South Central Chairman, Gary Fields.  It has the links needed to make dinner reservations, purchase program ads and to make T-shirt orders.  IHCC will be defending both the Swim and Dive South Central Championships.  The Swim Team Banquet will be held immediately follow Sunday’s competition.

The 32nd Annual Braves & Squaws Tournament – July 23rd – 25th
     The Braves and Squaws Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 24th and 25th with practice rounds and party to be held on Friday, July 23rd.  Friday night’s activities will begin with a Complimentary Cocktail Party and Couples Putting Contest @ 6:00, Couples Lottery Draw sponsored by the Jewelry Barn @ 7:30 and “Andy and the Rockers” will be returning to IHCC for the festivities on Friday night. 
     There will be a dinner on Saturday night @ 7:30 for all competitors.  The Awards Presentation for all flights is scheduled for Sunday, July 25th @ 6:30 pm.  The format will be selective drive alternate shot (36-holes).  Please stop by the Golf Shop to pick up an entry form or contact Ashley Smith, 793-0785, for information on this great tradition at Indian Hills.

TGIF Dinner by the Pool – Friday, July 30th @ 6:00
       TGIF returns on Friday, July 30th.  This is a family event.   This is a night when everyone brings their own meat to cook on the grills and we prepare the side dishes.  Once again, we will have a DJ with Karaoke from 6 till 10 pm and the swimming pool will also remain open until 10.  The grills will be ready at 7:00 for everyone to grill their own meat selection.  NOTE:  If you bring chicken, bring your own tongs.  You may either call or email to make your reservations by Wednesday, July 28th.

               
Policy Reminders:

Snack Bar Charges and Punch Cards   If you do not wish your child(ren) to be able to charge Snack Bar purchases to your account, $10 punch cards can be purchased (or charged) to your account for your child(ren) to use. The punch cards are available in the Snack Bar and in the Office.   It is up to you as the parents whether your child can charge to your account.  With so many children and over half a dozen Snack Bar employees, we cannot police the charge privileges of individual children. 
  
No Glass  No glass items, plates, glasses and bottles, are allowed in the pool area or the adjacent patio.

Cart Reminder   Regardless of whether it is a private cart or a rental cart, children under 16 ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DRIVE CARTS ON THE IHCC COURSE.

Respect Your Club
     IHCC is a beautiful facility and most all of us work hard to keep it that way.  Please – with over 500 families using our facility, it is important for everyone to do their part in keeping it clean.  We ask that all members and their families properly dispose of all trash and cigarette butts in the provided receptacles.  Smokers – you are not to leave your cigarette butts on the golf course, lawn or patio.
     For everyone’s safety, we ask that everyone drive slowly and cautiously on our drives and parking areas.
